Robotic DSR Sinus Floor Lift With Simultaneous Implantation: Case Report
With advancements in autonomous dental implant robot (ADIR) technology, robotic-assisted implant surgery for maxillary sinus floor elevation in the posterior maxilla can significantly enhance the precision and safety. This case report showed the use of ADIR combined with Disk-up Sinus Reamer (DSR) for transcrestal sinus floor elevation with simultaneous implant placement. Three cases of posterior maxillary implant placement were performed, characterized by residual bone height (RBH) ranging from 4 to 7 mm. All procedures were conducted using ADIR (DentalNavi; YakeRobot Technology Ltd) to facilitate transcrestal sinus floor elevation with simultaneous implant placement. A Disk-up Sinus Reamer (DSR) was utilized to elevate the sinus membrane to 10–11 mm, followed by grafting with bone substitutes. Dental implants placed simultaneously. CBCT were taken before surgery and immediately after surgery to verify the precision. The results showed a total deviation of approximately 0.683 mm at the implant site, 0.638 mm at the apical region, and an angular deviation of 1.362°. All cases exhibited high precision and no significant complications. ADIR achieved high repeatability and minimal deviation, confirming its reliability in sinus floor lift. Compared to conventional techniques, the DSR allows for atraumatic membrane elevation without tapping, reducing patient’s discomfort. Limitations include the fixed DSR length and the lack of robotic feedback on bone density. ADIR-assisted transcrestal sinus floor lift with DSR is a promising technique for posterior maxillary implant placement with moderate bone defect. It is safety and accuracy, and reduces patient discomfort.
