A Case Of Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis
Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare hematologic disorder that affects a lot of adults. LCH was one of the first histiocytic disorders to be recognized as a hematopoietic neoplasm by the World Health Organization (WHO) .It has a variety of clinical manifestations. This article describes a case of LCH involving the mouth and genitals. The patient, a 44-year-old male, was found to have red palate and loose teeth 1 year ago, which affected eating, and perianal ulcer, bleeding and pain in stool. Blood routine examination, syphilis, HIV, microbial and anti-nuclear antibody tests were negative. Clinical examination showed that the patient's gums were red and swollen all over the mouth, and the mucosa and gums of the palate were extensively eroded and congested. And the roots of the posterior teeth were obviously exposed. Spiral CT examination revealed resorption of alveolar bone and palatal plate in the patient, the nature of which is undetermined. The pathological examination of the mucosa of the palate confirmed LCH disease. We recommend that patients first visit the hematology department and then proceed with oral treatment Langerhans cell histiocytosis is is characterised by a wide spectrum of organ involvement and dysfunction, affecting all ages. While almost all organs and systems can be affected. LCH has an insidious onset, careful examination and screening is very important, patients with LCH who have skin lesions with systemic multisystem involvement need to be particularly alert to the possibility of life danger.
