Bibliometric Analysis Of Dental Fluorosis Research From 2014 To 2023
To understand the global research focus and trend of dental fluorosis over the past 10 years, as well as providing a scientific basis for the future development and trend of this field. Using data from China National Knowledge Network (CNKI) and Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC), and the publication date was set for 2014-01-01/2023-12-31. Documents with the topics "dental fluorosis", "fluorosis", "mottled enamel", "endemic fluorosis", "chronic fluorosis", and "geofluorosis" were searched by CNKI, while WoSCC was searched by “TS=("fluorosis" OR "fluoroses" OR "fluorosed teeth" OR "fluorosed tooth" OR "mottled enamel*")”. The Search results were loaded and imported into VOSviewer and Citespace software for bibliometric and visualization analysis. The CNKI and the WoSCC search yielded 472 and 1772 documents respectively. The institutional co-occurrence networks of the two literature databases both showed that Guizhou Medical University in China had the most publications, and the global co-authorship network analysis showed that 90.9% of the top 10 highly productive authors were from China. The keyword co-occurrence analyses of both databases revealed four major clusters: treatment, mechanism, water reclamation project, and quality of life assessment. Global dental fluorosis research focuses on high-fluoride areas, and the research hotspots are stable and changing. Chinese scholars have made significant contributions to global dental fluorosis research, but collaboration between health departments and research institutions should still be strengthened to further consolidate the effectiveness of prevention and treatment.
