Peripheral T-Cell Non-Hodgkin`S Lymphoma Of The Lip
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) of T-cell origin involving the lips is exceptionally rare and diagnostically challenging. This report describes a 16-year-old male presenting with recurrent swelling of both lips over three months. Histopathological and immunohistochemical analyses confirmed a diagnosis of peripheral T-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS). Subsequent PET-CT imaging revealed diffuse thickening and hypermetabolic activity in the lips, nasal region, and perineum, prompting urgent referral to the hematology department for initiation of CHOP chemotherapy. The case highlights the importance of recognizing subtle or persistent oral manifestations, such as unexplained swelling, as potential indicators of systemic lymphoma. Early pathological evaluation and biopsy of suspicious lesions are critical for timely diagnosis, particularly given the aggressive behavior of T-cell NHL. Dentists, often the first to encounter such oral abnormalities, play a pivotal role in facilitating timely interdisciplinary collaboration to mitigate disease progression and improve clinical outcomes.
