Robotic-Assisted Lateral Sinus Augmentation With Custom Horizontal Titanium Mesh

Combined Vertical Sinus Lift and Horizontal Ridge Augmentation in Posterior Maxilla A patient presenting with insufficient vertical bone height underwent occlusal vertical dimension elevation to restore functional occlusion. Simultaneously, due to inadequate alveolar bone volume in the right posterior maxilla, the following procedures were performed: ① Robotic-Assisted Lateral Sinus Augmentation in the Right Posterior Maxillary Region (Teeth #6-7): Two lateral windows (diameter 1.5 cm) was created using robotic navigation to access the maxillary sinus. Schneiderian membrane was carefully elevated, and a mixture of Autogenous bone granules and Collagen matrix was carefully implanted below the Schneider membrane . ② Customized Titanium Mesh Horizontal Bone Augmentation in the Right Posterior Maxillary Region (Teeth #4-6): A CAD/CAM-designed 3D-printed titanium mesh was fixed to the buccal alveolar ridge to stabilize horizontal bone defects. The graft material ( a mixture of autogenous bone granules and deproteinized bovine bone mineral (DBBM) was packed beneath the mesh. ③ implants were placed During the procedure, Straumann bone-level implants were placed in the right posterior maxillary region at positions #4 (first premolar), #6 (first molar), and #7 (second molar). ④ Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans at 1 year postoperatively demonstrated excellent peri-implant osteogenesis Robotic Precision: Reduced operator-dependent variability in sinus membrane handling. Titanium Mesh Stability: Maintained graft space integrity, promoting vascularization and bone maturation. Combined Vertical-Horizontal Augmentation: Addressed complex bone deficits. This integrated approach highlights the efficacy of robotic-assisted surgery and customized titanium mesh in managing severe maxillary bone deficiencies.

Abstract
