Behçet’S Disease With Severe Systemic Symptoms
Behcet's disease (BD) is a rare, chronic, recurrent autoimmune vasculitis involving multiple systems throughout the body. The multidisciplinary comprehensive diagnosis and treatment will be the trend for the therapy of Behçet’s Disease. A 44-year-old female presented with severe oral ulcer, eyes uncomfortable, scattered rashes on the legs to the department. At the beginning of the disease, the local hospital offered the Dexamethasone and Prednisone tablets. The symptoms of this patient were not with remission. During the treatment process, we have cooperated with the department of immunology, ophthalmology, gynecology and pathology. After one week with systematic medication, the patient was recovering well. For dentists, treating the oral mucosal diseases, the dosage of drug to treat the systemic diseases are difficult. The monitoring of systemic conditions is also a challenge for dentists. In this case, the cooperation of different departments helped the patients getting a good therapeutic effect. It also suggested that the treatment of oral mucosal disease required the MDT.
