Application Of Multimodal Ecg In Oral Surgery

Objective: This study systematically assesses the role of multimodal electrocardiogram (ECG) examinations in oral and maxillofacial surgery. It aims to inform surgical planning and peri - operative management. Methods: From May 2024 to March 2025, 200 patients (18 - 75 years old, 110 male, 90 female) scheduled for oral and maxillofacial surgery underwent multimodal ECG tests. These included 12 - lead ECG, 24 - hour ambulatory monitoring, echocardiogram, and carotid ultrasonography. Professionals interpreted the results, and a multidisciplinary team formulated individualized management plans. Intra - and post - operative cardiac monitoring was conducted, with data analyzed using SPSS 25.0. Results: Abnormalities were found in 35% of 12 - lead ECGs, 40% of 24 - hour ambulatory ECGs, 30% of echocardiograms, and 25% of carotid ultrasonographies. 25% of patients were high - risk. 10% had intraoperative cardiovascular complications. After 6 - month follow - up, 90% recovered. Those with abnormal results had a significantly higher rate of post - operative complications (P<0.05). Conclusion: Multimodal ECG examinations can identify cardiac and vascular issues, improving surgical safety and patient outcomes. Multidisciplinary collaboration and their application should be promoted.
