Traps In The Traction Of Impacted Teeth
During the traction process, tooth 11 experienced two rotations, resulting in an inability to bring it into the gingiva, necessitating the bending of a special device to correct the rotation of tooth 11 and bring it into the gingiva. Frontal view: symmetrical facial shape, facial features are basically symmetrical, chin is centered. Lateral view: convex facial type, mandible is retruded. Intraoral examination: no abnormalities observed in tooth 11, mild crowding in the upper arch, upper midline deviated 1.5mm to the right, anterior teeth with shallow overbite and shallow overjet. 1.The treatment duration has taken 30 months, which is excessively long. One of the iatrogenic factors contributing to this delay is the incorrect judgment of the traction direction. Therefore, during the traction of impacted teeth, it is essential to accurately assess and timely adjust the traction direction. 2.The first instance of rotation of tooth 11 was observed one year after treatment began. For patients with impacted teeth, it is important to regularly take CBCT scans to monitor the condition of the impacted teeth and their relationship with surrounding teeth. 3.Throughout the prolonged treatment period, patients may experience anxiety and a strong desire to conclude orthodontic treatment quickly. At this time, we need to be mindful of the patient's emotional fluctuations and engage in effective communication promptly. 1. Accurate judgment of the traction direction is essential in the treatment of impacted teeth. 2. Timely CBCT imaging is necessary.
