Innovative methods of flax fiber quality assessment using organomineral biostimulants

Using modern research methods, the quality of flax fiber was assessed, which was grown in field experiments with the treatment of plants with a new organomineral biostimulant from humified flax shives. A comparative assessment of the quality of flax fiber grown with the treatment with an organomineral biostimulant and with linguohumate was carried out. In the field experiments, the flax variety Antey was grown. The soil of the experimental plot is sod-podzolic medium loamy, well-cultivated. The studies examined the effect of an organomineral biostimulant obtained from humified flax shives and the lignohumate preparation on the quality indicators and chemical composition of the fiber. The concentration of the studied biopreparations was 0.01%. Treatment with the studied biostimulants was carried out twice, at the beginning of the "herringbone" phase and two weeks after the first treatment, in the rates recommended for this crop. The qualitative characteristics of the flax fiber were studied using infrared spectroscopy and the derivatographic method. The results of tests of flax straw and fiber of the Antey variety of flax show that the use of lingohumate preparations and an organomineral biostimulant from humified shives for treating flax plants in the "herringbone" phase affects the physical and mechanical properties. Evaluation of fiber quality by infrared spectroscopy indicates an improvement in fiber quality when using the studied preparations. The use of infrared spectroscopy to assess the quality of flax fiber indicates that the use of organomineral biostimulants promotes an increase in the degree of polymerization of cellulose molecules, as well as the transition of macromolecules from one structural form to another. Using the derivatographic analysis method, an increase in activation energy was established, which indicates a higher degree of cellulose polymerization, higher fiber quality, confirmed by physical and mechanical tests.
