Fluorinated cardo-based polyimide membranes for helium extraction from natural gas

Substituents (H, CH 3 , Cl and F) tune polyimide chain packing and FFV. Fluorine-substituted polyimides show 50.16% higher He/CH 4 selectivity than hydrogen-substituted ones, revealing structure–performance links for gas separation membranes.
