Brief review on influencing factors and future application prospects of laser ablation propulsion
Laser propulsion technology, an advanced method using laser–matter interaction to generate plasma for thrust, has become a research hotspot due to its numerous advantages. This paper studies laser ablation propulsion efficiency, elaborating on its physical process and mechanism, and explores the impacts of working medium properties, laser parameters, and target material structures on efficiency. It introduces potential applications in micro–nano satellites, deep space exploration, etc. Despite challenges like propellant selection, it shows great potential, requiring future optimization of parameter synergies for application value.
