Public health advice on sun exposure and sunbed use should not be disregarded

This article discusses the ecological fallacy of a recent paper entitled ‘Higher ultraviolet light exposure is associated with lower mortality: an analysis of data from the UK Biobank cohort study’, which is gaining wide support on social media, and concludes that it cannot reliably establish cause–effect relationships and should not be taken as the basis for changes in current public health advice regarding sun exposure and sunbed use.
