From flare to freedom: a young woman’s guttate psoriasis journey
This patient narrative describes the psychosocial and clinical impact of guttate psoriasis in a young woman, including its progression to plaque psoriasis and the role of stress and alcohol as triggers. The case highlights the stigma, impaired self-image and emotional burden associated with visible skin disease, alongside the transformative effect of biologic therapy. The clinician commentary underscores the importance of timely referral, patient education and holistic management that addresses both physical and psychological dimensions of psoriasis.
