In this study, we investigated the impact of an office acoustic environment on workplace productivity, focusing on background sounds that used speech analyzed through emotion analysis. We examined some background sounds, including music, ordinary speech (sound: b), and emotionanalyzed speech (sound: c), to determine their effects on focused work. Our findings indicate that music and sound: cconsists of speech that gives an impression of happinessimprove performance in repetitive addition tasks compared with silence.Sound: c was rated less distracting and more conducive to concentration than sound: b.Sound: c was rated less distracting and more conducive to concentration than sound: b.These results suggest that background sound options that enhance positive emotions can improve workplace productivity in office settings. In future research, we will explore long-term effects and different task types and further clarify the mechanisms behind these findings.
