Transformation mechanisms of vehicle wings

This article is devoted to the study of the transformation mechanisms of the load-bearing surfaces of vehicles, particularly airplanes, missiles, and unmanned systems. The results of numerous studies and experiments demonstrate that the use of adaptive wings can significantly improve the flight technical characteristics of aircrafts. The authors investigated in more detail the design of one of the possible variants of mechanisms for changing the spatial position of the vehicle wings based on a mechanical gear system. A design calculation of the cylindrical gear engagement of the wing transformation mechanism was performed, and the design parameters of the key components of the mechanism were substantiated. Based on the results of theoretical research, a mathematical model of the motion of moving elements of the studied vehicle wing transformation mechanism and the possibility of taking into account individual state parameters were proposed. Using virtual engineering methods, three-dimensional computer models of the parts and components of the wing transformation mechanism were built. Based on the conducted research, a method for assembling the wing transformation mechanism with an internal cylindrical spur gear during the manufacturing process is proposed. Technical requirements for basic production operations and component quality control have been formulated.
