This article examines fundamental elements of Pope Francis’s social magisterium, highlighting its pastoral, prophetic, and theological dimensions. Drawing on key documents such as Evangelii Gaudium , Laudato Si’ , Fratelli Tutti , and Dilexit Nos , this article shows how Francis reinterprets the Catholic Social Doctrine through an embodied praxis centered on the poor, integral ecology, universal fraternity, and synodality. The theology of the people emerges as a crucial hermeneutical lens for understanding his thought. In addition, the article addresses the reception, resistance, and challenges that this magisterium faces, both within the ecclesial sphere and in broader social and cultural contexts. In times of global crisis—and now in the absence of his physical presence—Francis’s legacy continues to offer a horizon of hope: a Church that goes forth, shaped by the Good Samaritan, committed to justice and the dignity of the excluded.
