The Effect and Mechanism of <scp>MXDA</scp> on the Road Performance and Bonding Behavior of Epoxy Resin‐Graphite Tailings Composite Repair Materials

ABSTRACT Epoxy resin holds promise as an innovative material for pavement rehabilitation in cold regions. However, its large‐scale application is limited by its high cost and poor interfacial compatibility with asphalt, stemming from modulus mismatch. This discrepancy often leads to stress concentrations at the contact interfaces under temperature variations, resulting in debonding and cracking. To overcome these limitations, this study develops an epoxy resin‐graphite tailings pavement rehabilitation material (EGRM). Initial determination of the optimal ratio of epoxy resin to curing agent and graphite tailings was achieved through mechanical property tests. Furthermore, the road performance of the EGRM was enhanced by the introduction of accelerators. Comprehensive characterization techniques, including thermogravimetric‐differential scanning calorimetry (TG‐DSC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), were employed to investigate the bonding mechanism of the material. The results show that the EGRM has excellent mechanical properties and road performance when the accelerator content is 20%.
