Human lifestyle and his biological, cogntive age: study design

Objective. To present the design of study on assessment of the relationship of a person’s lifestyle with his biological and cognitive age. Materials and methods. The study was performed at the Orenburg State Medical University (OSMU) with scientific and expert support of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine (NMRC TPM). As part of the work, a sample of 150 individuals was formed. Among them, 100 were part of the experimental group (the 1st group), which brought together people aged 35—55 years with a high level of self-motivation for healthy lifestyle and improvement of their biological age. The remaining 50 subjects in a similar age category without clear demonstration of expressed readiness to implement health-oriented behavioral changes were included in the control group (2nd group). Consclusion. The problem of understanding and assessing the rate of natural ageing, as well as finding ways to transform it, is quite complex and requires further work. Identification of key targets for geroprotective interventions is a promising tool to develop healthy longevity strategies.
