Clinical characteristics and treatment challenges of esophageal sarcomatoid carcinoma: a single-center retrospective cohort study
The preoperative pathological diagnosis rate of ESC is low, and lymph node metastasis is associated with a poorer prognosis. Early screening and improving the accuracy of biopsy may be effective strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of ESC. Treatment approaches similar to those for esophageal cancer may not be suitable for ESC; therefore, specific treatment protocols for ESC need to be developed.
