The Role of the State in the Policy of Reconciling Work and Private Life – Work-Life Balance Policy Models
The article presents the important role of the state in the area of reconciling professional and private life. A definition of the Work-Life Balance (WLB) policy was developed, the actors participating in it and the tools were described, and WLB models were developed in relation to the role of the state in this area of its activity. The definition and analysis of various WLB policy models allowed for the identification of practices that can guide state actions in the area of WLB. The article uses a narrative review of literature and a comparative method, thanks to which it was possible to compare various WLB models and assess the possibilities of their implementation in specific conditions. The role of the state in implementing the WLB policy consists primarily in: setting goals, introducing appropriate tools, mainly legal and financial, and promoting and monitoring the WLB policy, adapting it to current social, economic and cultural conditions.
