3D-Printed AI-Powered Robot With Secure Data Handling and Return to Home Capabilities

This research aims to develop an AI-powered robot with the primary goal of reducing operational risks. Its’ key features include continuous surveillance, real-time tracking, obstacle avoidance, accurate object detection, and remote control via a secure dashboard interface. The design integrates a 3D-printed chassis with Raspberry Pi 4 and Arduino UNO. Additionally, the robot has night vision capabilities provided by a Raspberry Pi camera with attached Infrared Light-Emitting Diodes. A built-in Wi-Fi module facilitates wireless connectivity, with a range of up to 500 meters or more. The robot addresses communication failures through "Return to Home" and "Kill" functionalities. A secure dashboard created using Python Flask streams and displays the live data from the robot. This design effectively addresses common challenges encountered in existing robot designs, such as high noise, inefficiency in providing continuous live feeds, and accurately determining position. The resulting robot demonstrates efficiency in real-time monitoring, produces low noise, can navigate hazardous environments, and narrow spaces such as pipes. Moreover, it shares the last image captured before communication failure to the sender’s local server. It is useful for further analysis. Furthermore, it provides live video feeds and gathers critical information without risking human lives.
