Sub‐1000 °C Sintering of Protonic Ceramic Electrochemical Cells via Microwave‐Driven Vapor Phase Diffusion (Adv. Mater. 43/2025)
Microwave-Driven Vapor Phase Diffusion In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/adma.202506905), Kang Taek Lee and co-workers demonstrate a microwave-driven vapor phase diffusion sintering strategy enabling viscous-flow-mediated densification of proton-conducting perovskite electrolytes at 980 °C. Suppressing Ba volatilization and preserving stoichiometry, this low-temperature approach overcomes long-standing fabrication challenges, delivering record-breaking PCEC performance, refined electrode microstructure, and exceptional durability.
