Hydrogen Production by Solar Photoreforming of Urban Wastewaters in Thin‐Layer Flat Catalytic Panels (Adv. Funct. Mater. 44/2025)
Solar Photocatalysis In their Research Article (10.1002/adfm.202502903), Alberto Puga and co-workers demonstrate the effective valorisation of urban sewage and municipal wastewater treatment plant effluents by means of solar photocatalytic reforming in thin-layer outdoors panels. This solution is markedly different from conventional technologies based on biological processes, since it relies on robust inorganic catalytic materials and sunlight as the only activating energy input. Major advantages include avoidance of sludge generation and the production of hydrogen as valuable energy co-product.
