Teaching Innovation and Financial Law: A Scoping Review
This paper examines the gamification in the higher education context. In recent years, university teaching methods have evolved from more traditional methods to more innovative ones. In this sense, active methodologies have been incorporated into Higher Education, which are contributing to improving the learning experience. In this work, we not only review the existing literature on educational gamification but also present several innovative teaching experiences applied to subjects related to Financial Law at the University of Vigo. The specific design of educational games, such as escape rooms, the application of case studies, the implementation of a service-learning project, or the incorporation of technologies into teaching and learning are contributing to improving student motivation in all subjects related to Financial Law. Based on our experience, we can conclude that the advantages of incorporating active methodologies and gamification in Higher Education outweigh the costs and drawbacks of their design and implementation. The use of these innovative methodologies has improved student performance and increased their satisfaction and motivation.
