Cinsiyet, Finansal Kiralamanın Gelişimi ve Finansal Sistemlerin Güvenilirliğinin Etkileşiminin Girişimcilik Üzerine Etkisi: Karışık Etkili Regresyon Analizi
There are significant differences between male and female entrepreneurship. One of the biggest factors that reveals this difference is access to financial resources. This study aims to observe what will happen when the problems of access to financial resources between genders are eliminated. It is expected that if it happens, the number of both new enterprises regardless of gender and enterprises that women have could increase significantly. The aim of this study is to observe whether new enterprises and the tendency of women to start enterprises are positively affected when the reliability of financial systems and the development of financial leasing are both increased. In line with the purpose of the study, the analysis findings on the reliability of financial systems and the development of financial leasing, which are thought to be effective on enterprises, as well as individual variables affecting entrepreneurial activities, were interpreted. Thus, at the end of the study, the effect of the indicators of the reliability of financial systems and the development of financial leasing on the relationship between gender and entrepreneurship could also be observed. The study utilized a sample based on the survey data of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). The sample consists of data on 95,000 individuals who are actively engaged in entrepreneurial activities in 90 countries between 2018 and 2024. In this context, the hypotheses determined in the study were tested with the mixed-effects regression analysis method. As a result of the analyses, similar results were obtained with those expected in the hypotheses. The mixed-effects regression results reveal that the reliability of financial systems and the development of financial leasing are important financial factors that encourage entrepreneurs. Yet women entrepreneurs engage in entrepreneurial activities surprisingly by only the factor “development of financial leasing” only not by the reliability of financial system. At the end of the study, based on the analysis findings, it was concluded that the development of financial leasing will contribute to the increase in the rate of women entrepreneurs among entrepreneurs but not the reliability of financial systems.
