Dynamic Reconfiguration of Three‐Phase Unbalanced Active Distribution Networks Considering Peer‐To‐Peer Energy Trading
With the recent expansion of renewable‐based energy resources, the proliferation of transactive energy markets has become imperative to facilitate the necessary frameworks for the active participation of these resources. This paper introduces a peer‐to‐peer (P2P) market for energy exchange among prosumers in unbalanced three‐phase distribution networks. In the proposed framework, the distribution network operator acts as a participant, negotiating with the other participants and ensuring the fulfillment of network technical constraints through network reconfiguration. Since network reconfiguration is a mixed integer programming (MIP) problem, the proposed framework is nonconvex; thus, global equilibrium points are not guaranteed. This paper employs a novel relaxation technique in the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) to convexify the distribution system operator (DSO)’s problem and consequently establish the necessary and sufficient conditions for market equilibrium. The model is implemented on the IEEE 34‐bus system to verify the effectiveness of the proposed model. Results demonstrate that utilizing the proposed method increases the overall market profit, and the ADMM algorithm converges with fewer iterations compared to the scenario without network reconfiguration.
