Monte Carlo study of magnetic properties of the ferromagnetic Fe3GeTe2 monolayer

In this paper, we utilized the Monte Carlo method to investigate the magnetic properties of a ferromagnetic mixed-spin (3/2, 5/2, and 1) Fe 3 GeTe 2 (FGT) monolayer. In order to investigate the spin configuration of magnetic materials at low temperatures under the influence of various physical parameters, we plotted the ground state phase diagrams. It can be observed that the change in the crystal fields [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] would cause a transition in the spin configuration. Compared with the effect of the crystal field, the exchange coupling has almost no effect on the change in spin configuration at low temperatures. The spin configuration of magnetic systems has important applications in spintronics and magnetic memory devices. In addition, the magnetic and thermodynamic properties of the system under the effects of the exchange couplings [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text], and crystal fields [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text] are analyzed. The phase diagrams are also drawn, which show how different physical parameters affect the transition temperature [Formula: see text]. Decreasing the absolute values of crystal fields and increasing the exchange couplings could improve the transition temperature. The results of the phase transition temperature can provide a potential application basis for FGT-like materials in the field of magnetic recording.
