Physical activity behavior among various knee surgeries: A cross-sectional study
The physical activity behaviors were evaluated for patients who underwent different knee surgeries, including ligament repair, meniscus surgery, osteotomy, and total knee arthroplasty. A cross-sectional study was conducted. Physical activity behavior was assessed using the Short Questionnaire to Assess Health-Enhancing Physical Activity scale. Negatively related factors to physical activity were identified. A total of 168 patients participated. For sport activity, aging was a factor without knee surgery consequence. Leisure activity (walking or gardening et.al.) was negatively affected after meniscus & ligament surgery. Work/school and household activity were highly related to gender features especially in Japan. Having knee surgery does not stop patients from enjoying lifelong sports. Targeted interventions are necessary to sustain and enhance physical activity levels following knee surgery.
