Competency Skill Intervention
Abstract In today’s fast-paced IT era, effective change management (CM) and employee engagement are vital for organizational success. This study analyzes the role of competency skill intervention (SI) as a driver for CM practice (CMP) and employee engagement in Delhi’s NCR IT sector. Using a quantitative approach with data from 249 IT staff, the analysis reveals a clear chain of impact. First, competency assessment (CA) significantly impacts SI (β = 0.456), which in turn positively drives CMP (β = 0.429). Second, both CA and SI significantly explain employee involvement, with SI having a larger effect (β = 0.520 vs. β = 0.403), together accounting for 75.4 % of the variance (R 2 = 0.754). These findings confirm the critical link between competency development, change management, and employee outcomes. The study provides actionable guidelines for IT executives, emphasizing the need for ongoing AI-based competency mapping and customized up skilling. Furthermore, fostering an agile CMP and a strong engagement culture is critical for maintaining innovation and resilience in the evolving IT landscape.
