Functional and Structural Analyses of Diverse G‐Quadruplex and Non‐G‐Quadruplex Structures Formed by Guanine‐Rich Nucleic Acids: A Study on the Insulin Aptamer (Small 43/2025)
G-Quadruplex Structures In article number 2501336, Naoya Iwano, Taiji Oyama, Kazunori Ikebukuro, and co-workers report for the first time that guanine-rich DNA can specifically bind to proteins without forming G-quadruplex structures. This study sheds light on how guanine-rich sequences can modulate binding affinity through mechanisms independent of G-quadruplex formation, highlighting a wide variety of the structures of guanine-rich DNA.
