Synthesis and Ultrafast Intramolecular Energy Transfer in BODIPY/Porphyrin-BOPHY Dyads
We report the synthesis and characterization of BOPHY-BODIPY (3) and BOPHY-porphyrin (6 and 7) dyads, where the BOPHY unit(s) is covalently linked to the meso position of BODIPY or porphyrin. Excited state dynamics of 3 using pump-probe spectroscopy revealed a 345 fs energy transfer from BOPHY to BODIPY and a 14 ps electron transfer from BODIPY to BOPHY. BOPHY-porphyrin dyads (6 and 7) displayed 90-100 fs energy transfer from BOPHY to porphyrin, but no electron transfer was observed.
