Indonesia's strategy to overcome negative campaigns against palm oil as renewable energy

This study aims to analyze Indonesia's strategy in addressing the impact of negative campaigns on the palm oil industry, which is often associated with issues of deforestation, environmental damage, and human rights violations. The focus of this research is on the policies implemented by Indonesia to improve the sustainability of the palm oil industry and improve the image of the international market, including ISPO (Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil) & RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certification, deforestation moratorium, B30 & B40 biofuel policies, and economic diplomacy. The research method used is a qualitative approach with secondary data, which includes official reports, journal articles, news, and related statistical data. The results show that although the challenges of negative campaigns are still significant, Indonesia has taken strategic steps that have an impact on improving the sustainability and international market position of the palm oil industry. The study also found that the implementation of international sustainability standards and strengthening economic diplomacy are important to alleviate negative perceptions and strengthen Indonesia's competitiveness in the global market. The conclusion of this study is that Indonesia has made great efforts to improve the image of the palm oil industry, but challenges related to global perceptions of deforestation and social impacts still need to be further addressed through more effective policies and international collaboration.
