First person – Tiago J. Dantas
ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Tiago J. Dantas is first author on ‘ Dynein-2 requires HSP90 chaperone activity to ensure robust retrograde IFT and ciliogenesis’, published in JCS. Tiago conducted the research described in this article while a co-PI (jointly leading this project) with Dr Carla Abreu at Universidade do Porto, Porto, Portugal. He is now a Principal Investigator/Group Leader at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS), School of Medicine, University of Minho, Braga, Portugal, where his lab studies how microtubule-associated motors and cilia function to control cell proliferation and guide brain development.
