Design and application of a novel natural deep eutectic solvent as a green solvent and catalyst for the efficient synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrans

In this study, a novel natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES) composed of proline (HBA), choline chloride (HBA), glycerol (HBD) (1:1:6) was designed and utilized for the green synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[ b ]pyrans. The primary objective of this research is to present an eco-friendly and efficient method for synthesizing valuable compounds using green and natural solvents. The innovative NADES not only serves as a green solvent but also acts as a catalyst, enhancing the reaction efficiency. This method offers several advantages, including a short reaction time, high yield, easy work-up, and the ability to recover the solvent. The green nature of the reaction medium, combined with the novel application of NADES as both solvent and catalyst, underscores the superiority and novelty of this approach in sustainable chemistry. The primary objective of this research is to evaluate the efficiency and sustainability of the proline/choline chloride/glycerol (1:1:6) composed NADES in the synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[ b ]pyrans.
