Facile Construction of CD/MAF Nanocomposites via Self-Carbonization for Near-White Light Emission

Carbon nanodot (CD)/metal–organic framework (MOF) nanocomposites are expected to be promising white light LED materials due to their tunable compositions. Nevertheless, the material instability, cost, toxicity, and other restrictions must be settled for their practical application. Herein, we report a facile self-carbonization strategy for preparing low-cost CD/MAF (carbon nanodot embedded in metal–azolate framework) nanocomposites with retained structure and stability. The resulting CD/MAF showed topology-dependent, near-white light emission behaviors suitable for white light emission. This nanoscale strategy sheds light on the path toward low-cost, highly tunable luminescent nanocomposite materials.
