An analysis of writing points for science and technology think tank papers
The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasized the need to strengthen science and technology strategy consulting. Against this backdrop, conducting systematic research on the writing points of science and technology think tank papers holds significant theoretical value and practical guidance for the development of the national science and technology strategy consulting system. Unlike academic papers in natural science disciplines characterized by their theory-oriented nature, science and technology think tank papers build on research achievements in natural science disciplines to propose strategic and policy-oriented reflections. They place greater emphasis on producing "intellectual products" to articulate viewpoints, foster consensus, and ultimately influence decision-making. Therefore, the writing points of science and technology think tank papers require targeted standardization based on their unique research characteristics. Drawing on years of experience in writing and editing science and technology think tank papers, this article analyzes strategies for enhancing the quality and effectiveness of such papers from the dimensions of authors, audiences, and communication channels. It identifies key issues and core principles, supported by in-depth analysis of typical cases. The aim is to improve the writing standards of science and technology think tank papers, expand the service scope of scientific research achievements, provide guidance, and support the advancement of national science and technology strategy consulting.
