Evaluation of Conventional Fungicides for the Management of Anthracnose in Watermelon in Georgia, 2024
Anthracnose in watermelon, caused by Colletotrichum orbiculare, is an important and serious destructive disease in watermelon production in Georgia. The disease causes significant yield loss at both pre- and postharvest stages. The pathogen causes symptoms on all aboveground plant parts including leaf, stem, and fruits. Symptoms on leaves appear as blackish brown lesions, often leading to a shot-hole appearance in leaves. This report evaluates the efficacy of conventional fungicides for the control of watermelon anthracnose in Georgia in 2024. Results from these trials will help the management of watermelon anthracnose.
