The Impact of Awareness of Health and Safety Management Systems on Safety Performance of Port Workers: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Major Disaster Response Capability
This study empirically examines the impact of awareness of health and safety management systems on safety performance among port workers, mediated by major disaster response capabilities, using regression analysis. The results indicate that awareness of health and safety management systems positively and significantly influences safety performance through major disaster response capabilities, specifically safety knowledge, safety skills, and safety capabilities. Notably, major disaster response capabilities demonstrate either full or partial mediating effects on the relationship between awareness of health and safety systems and safety performance, confirming that these capabilities play a critical role in enhancing organizational safety outcomes. These findings underscore the practical importance of strengthening safety education and promotion, alongside systematically developing and supporting disaster response competencies. Theoretically, this study contributes to the academic foundation by applying a multiple mediation model within safety management and disaster response research.
