Turning residual chlorides into exfoliation agents: fully gas-phase exfoliation of silicon nanosheets via amine-driven expansion for lithium-ion batteries

We turn a byproduct into a tool: instead of washing away CaCl 2 from reacted CaSi 2 , we expand it with NH 3 to exfoliate nanosheets. The outside-in process forms corrugated layers that stay interconnected, preserving structure & enhancing performance.

Abstract

We turn a byproduct into a tool: instead of washing away CaCl 2 from reacted CaSi 2 , we expand it with NH 3 to exfoliate nanosheets. The outside-in process forms corrugated layers that stay interconnected, preserving structure & enhancing performance.
