Experimental Study on Flexural-Strengthening Limit of RC Slabs Flexurally Reinforced with Recycled-Waste Fishing-Net Panels
This study experimentally investigates the flexural-strengthening limit of reinforced concrete (RC) slabs using recycled-waste fishing-net panels. Three two-span continuous RC slabs were fabricated: one served as the reference specimen, and the other two were strengthened with recycled fishing-net panels in the positive (+) and negative (-) moment regions, separately. A comparison between the theoretical failure modes with the experimental results show that, to enhance the applicability of the proposed strengthening limit, one must consider the debonding failure mode of the strengthening panels.
