A Rapid Method for Preparing Transient Thermal Expansion Cracking Agent and Its Thermal Decomposition Kinetics Analysis

Transient thermal expansion cracking agent is a novel and high-performance material, playing a crucial role in energy development and infrastructure projects. This study successfully prepared the product using Shenmu coal and potassium perchlorate as raw materials through a vortex oscillation mixing method. This method is both cost-effective and efficient. TG/DTG results show that the TG curve is divided into three stages. Interestingly, the mass loss of the sample in combustion is rapid, reaching 65.04% (15 °C/min), with a total mass loss of up to 86.09%. Infrared and TG-MS analyses provided detailed insights into functional group evolution at various temperatures, enhancing understanding of the thermal decomposition mechanism. These results offer valuable reference points for future studies on transient thermal expansion cracking agents. In addition, this study employed various isoconversion methods to thoroughly investigate the thermal decomposition kinetics of the sample, dividing it into two stages. The T-a curve of the first stage was successfully modeled by the DAEM model, while the three kinetic parameters of the second stage were calculated using the OFWI and KASI methods.
