Leading from Anywhere: Developing Digital Leadership for Hybrid Organizations

In a rapidly evolving work environment mainly due to worldwide events like the COVID, 19 pandemic, companies have decided in a hurry to switch their work mode to hybrid work, models which means employees are allowed to work from home or in office as they wish and flexible working (Ebojoh & Högberg, 2024). This transition has put a question on the effectiveness of traditional leadership models which are based mostly on physical contact, hierarchical visibility, and direct oversight and which have been thrown a challenge by digital leadership which refers to the leadership ability to lead, influence and motivate the team that is spread across different geographical locations using the digital tools, virtual communication, and adaptive strategies and which has now become both an indispensable weapon and a source of the promotion for modern organizations (Nurhidayah & Muliansyah, 2024; Chamakiotis, Panteli & Davison, 2019). This work comprehensively conceptualizes the idea of digital leadership within the scope of hybrid organizational structures. It also attempts to identify the core competencies, the potential, and the challenges of the same. Based on the theoretical resources, the paper presents the case studies from the organizations with high level of digital maturity and the concepts of organizational psychology and digital transformation to cogitate over the ways of leading
