Numerical simulation of particle deposition characteristics in the tail flue of a coal-fired boiler
The deposition of particles in the boiler tail flue heat exchanger significantly reduces its heat exchange efficiency, so understanding the particle deposition behavior in the heat exchanger channel is essential to improving its performance. In this paper, the deposition characteristics of particles in three-dimensional dimple pits are simulated and analyzed using the RANS method. The results show that the deposition characteristics of particles in the concave and convex dimples are mainly affected by gravity, thermal swimming force, turbulent structure, secondary flow and particle inertia, and the role of these factors varies with the particle size.
