Double wind barriers to reduce dust deposition on photovoltaic modules

Severe dust deposition is still one of the most troublesome problems in photovoltaic power generation today. In order to effectively improve the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic systems, this study proposes a method of adding wind barriers in front and behind the photovoltaic system. And the state of the flow field around the photovoltaic system and the movement trajectory of dust particles were simulated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. This method effectively reduces the dust deposition rate on the surface of photovoltaic panels by about 10%. And as the height of the wind barrier increases, the dust deposition rate on the surface of the photovoltaic panel also decreases, especially for particles before 150µm.
