Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation in LVAD Recipients: What We Know, What We Still Don't
Pre-existing and new ventricular arrhythmias remain one of the most vexing challenges in patients supported by left ventricular assist devices (LVADs).As device technology improves and survival extends, the interplay between arrhythmic burden and mechanical support continues to define outcomes. While sicker hearts are more likely to develop ventricular tachycardia (VT), the hemodynamic benefits of LVAD support do not eliminate the underlying substrate of cardiomyopathy that continues to drive VT burden [1,2].
