Parental caregiver expectations of hip and spine surgery in children with neuromuscular conditions: A qualitative study
The findings of this study highlight the value of ensuring that the expectations of healthcare providers reflect those of parents to strengthen preparedness. Addressing gaps in perioperative information could mitigate anxiety and improve outcomes. Future efforts should focus on caregiver education and peer support to bridge existing knowledge gaps and optimize perioperative expectations.
