Inside Back Cover: Generally Grafting Hydrophobic Polymer Brushes in Pure Water Through SIP of Phase Transfer Delivered Monomers (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 47/2025)

Surface-grafted hydrophobic polymer brushes play a critical role in surface modification. Hydrophobic polymer brushes are facilely but efficiently fabricated in pure aqueous phase with phase-transfer-delivered water-immiscible monomers using methyl-β-cyclodextrin as the transport carrier. The method enables easy alternating or simultaneous grafting of hydrophilic and hydrophobic monomers in an environment and user- and user-friendly manner. The resulting polymer brushes show great potential in information encoding and low-friction lubrication, as reported by Wei Li in their Research Article (e202516468).
