Outside Back Cover: Low‐Spin W III ‐Triggered Triplet Spin‐Polarized Electron Delocalization of Tungsten Oxide for Photocatalytic Reduction of Uranium (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 48/2025)
Solar-light driven photocatalysis is a green and efficient technology to immobilize high-toxic and radioactive uranium (U). In their Research Article (e202519402), Wen Liu and co-workers designed a facet engineered WO3 nanowires with OVs confined to (110) surfaces ((110)-WO2.35) with low-spin WIII configuration. As a result, enhanced π* occupancy driven by electronic redistribution in dxz/dyz–py/pz hybrid orbitals of W elevated the conduction band, markedly boosting electron donation capability for U(VI) reduction.
