Abstract

With the rapid development of Chinese society, Chinese semantics has shown new characteristics and trends. The research deals with the semantic and grammatical analysis of the ten most buzzwords in China during 2024. The words were chosen based on the classification of the Chinese magazine "Yaowen Jiaozi" of the ten most buzzwords in China during 2024, with a focus on their semantic analysis, as the research analyzes the development of the meanings of these words and their connection to contemporary concepts such as technology and daily life. As for the grammatical aspect, the research clarifies their grammatical structure and how to use them. The research concluded a set of general characteristics of these words, such as simplicity of wording, combination of them with foreign words, and a strong sense of humor and sarcasm. The research also found societal changes that these terms reflect, such as the development of the Chinese economy, the progress of science and technology, especially artificial intelligence, the influence of media and the Internet, the increasing number of elderly people, the Chinese society’s interest in children, and some changes in the concepts of family and school education.
