Effects of Sr-doping on Structural, Optical, and Electrical Properties of NiCr2–xSrxO4 Nanoparticles Synthesized by Microwave Method

In this study, undoped and Sr-doped NiCr2O4 nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized using a microwave-assisted method and their structural, morphological and optical properties were studied using the following techniques such as UV-Vis, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), photoluminescence (PL), high resolution scanning electron microscopy (HR-SEM), and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM). Techniques such as SEM, TEM, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) are useful tools for calculating the grain and crystallite size of the samples. A small amount of Sr-doping on nickel chromite was used to enhance their optical and semiconducting attributes. Due to their porous structure, which promotes ion diffusion and improves electrical contact with the electrolyte, pure and doped samples thus display high electrochemical performances. Studies of DC electrical conductivity show that at temperatures, both pure and doped compounds behave semi-conducingly.
